Sarasota County continues to identify allocations for major projects associated with the American Rescue Plan Act. The $84.2 million is primarily going towards acquiring affordable housing units, water quality improvements, salary payments for fire and emergency services personnel, and mental health services particularly for the homeless population. All these initiatives were compiled by the County Commission through public comment, business leaders and more.
