August was a great month for new home builders. New homes saw an unexpected jump in sales this past August. However, due to high inventory levels and mortgage rates, we also saw a huge dip in the average sell prices. These are the signs we’ve been watching for. The tables are slowly starting to turn back towards the buyers for these beautiful new construction homes. As the numbers start to trickle in for September, about 20% of homebuilders say they are already decreasing their prices some more!
