13 New Stores and Restaurants Are Coming to UTC This Summer

If you love shopping, dining, and everything new, there's plenty to be excited about. University Town Center (UTC) continues to grow with 13 new stores and restaurants either now open or expected to open throughout the summer, making one of the Sarasota area's most popular destinations even better.

Leading the expansion is IKEA, which is opening its first Sarasota-area location in the West District. The new 48,000-square-foot store will feature more than 5,000 home furnishing products, giving local shoppers easier access to one of the world's most recognized home brands.

Home design enthusiasts will also welcome West Elm, bringing an 18,000-square-foot showroom featuring modern furniture, décor, and home accessories.

Food lovers have plenty to look forward to as well, with several popular restaurants and healthy dining options joining UTC, including:

Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza
Zen Dumpling
Just Salad
Playa Bowls
Pure Green

Sports and wellness are also expanding at UTC. Pure Hockey will serve the area's growing hockey community, while Body Hot Pilates will offer infrared-heated fitness classes for those looking to stay active.

Looking ahead, Dick's House of Sport is currently under construction and is expected to open in 2027. The interactive concept will feature attractions like a climbing wall, sports simulators, and hands-on experiences, creating much more than a traditional sporting goods store.

UTC has become one of the Gulf Coast's premier destinations for shopping, dining, entertainment, and lifestyle. This continued growth adds even more value for residents and visitors while reinforcing why the Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch area remains one of Florida's fastest-growing places to live.
