Gen Z is increasingly choosing trade schools and vocational programs over traditional four-year degrees, and the numbers are staggering. Nationally, vocational enrollment has climbed nearly 12 percent for three straight years, and Florida is leading the charge – construction trades enrollment alone jumped 38 percent between 2022 and 2025. Florida now ranks number one in the nation for workforce education, with CTE enrollment topping 818,000 K-12 students and over 512,000 at the postsecondary level.
