The Sarasota area continues to gain national attention for its growth. LinkedIn’s 2026 Cities on the Rise report ranked the North Port, Bradenton, Sarasota metro No. 4 in the country for career growth and opportunity.

The annual ranking analyzed LinkedIn data including hiring trends, job postings, and professional migration from March 2024 through February 2026. Only Augusta, Georgia, Richmond, Virginia, and Reno, Nevada ranked ahead of our region.

LinkedIn highlighted several factors contributing to the Sarasota area’s momentum, including major development projects, continued investment in healthcare, and the coastal lifestyle that continues to attract both residents and businesses. Healthcare was also a major driver nationally, ranking as the leading hiring industry in 23 of the 25 metros on the list.

For Sarasota and Manatee counties, job growth is an important piece of the region’s larger growth story. A strong employment market can attract new residents, support local businesses, and contribute to long term housing demand as professionals relocate to the Gulf Coast for career opportunities.
